Stock Portfolio Management program, cloud based.
This guide explains everything you need to know to add, track, edit, or delete stock transactions, and how to understand the different displays in your portfolio screen. It also covers advanced features like viewing your funds cash movement log, portfolio charts, reports, managing currencies, backups, and portfolio management.
1. Registering a New Account
To start using ShareExpress Plus you
need to create an account.

- Go to the registration page.
- Enter a username (at least 5 characters, letters and numbers only), email, and password.
- Click "Register".
- You'll receive an activation email. Check your inbox (and spam folder) for the link.
- Click the activation link from the email to activate your account.
- Once activated, you can log in.
Tip: Usernames and emails must be
unique. If taken, you'll see an error.
2. Activating Your Account
After registering:
- Open the activation email sent to you.
- Click the activation link.
- If successful, you'll see a message: "Account activated successfully! You can now log in."
- If the link is invalid or expired, request a new one via the resend activation page.
Please note: You can't log in until
activated. Contact us if you are experiencing problems.
3. Logging In
To access your portfolio:
- Go to the login page.
- Enter your username and password.
- Click "Log In".
- If successful, you'll be redirected to the main portfolio screen.
- Start by adding your stock transactions in the same chronological
order of execution, starting from the oldest trade.
Tip: If you forget your password, use
the "Forgot Password" link.
4. Resetting Your Password
If you forget your password:
- Go to the forgot password page.
- Enter your email and click "Reset Password".
- Check your inbox for a reset link.
- Click the link, enter a new password (at least 6 characters), and confirm it.
- Click "Reset Password".
- Log in with your new password.
Tip: The reset link is one-time use.
Request a new one if needed.
5. Adding a New Stock Transaction
To add a trade:
- Start with the main Portfolio Screen. If your
portfolio is currently empty an "Add new stock" button will display.
- You must select your home currency
before you can enter any trades. All trades will then be converted to
your home currency by default. E.g. your home currency is AUD and you
enter a USA based stock, the buy price (which must be entered in USD)
will automatically be converted to AUD on all screens.
Tip: Exchange rates can be manually or automatically updated from within the main menu.
- Add trades in the same chronological order of execution.
- Fill in details: Symbol, Type
(Buy/Sell/Split/Dividend), Date, Quantity, Price (the price you paid in
the stock's market currency, E.g. USD for USA stocks, AUD for
Australian dollars, NZD for New Zealand dollars), Fees, etc.
- Click "Add Transaction".
- The
portfolio updates automatically. For new stocks, current market price
will use the last stock trade price you paid. This can be updated
manually.
Tip: Prices automatically convert to
your
home currency.
6. Adding a Stock Split or Consolidation
To record a split:
- Click the "Add trade" button available next to each stock in your portfolio.
- Select "Split" from the
selection box.
- Enter Date, Ratio (e.g., "2:1"), Notes.
- Click "Add Split".
- Quantity adjusts automatically.
- Consolidations can be entered the same way, in reverse order. E.g. a
company consolidated its shares 10 stocks to 1, enter the consolidation
ratio 1:10.
7. Adding Dividends
To record dividends:
- Click the "Add trade" button next to the stock in your portfolio.
- Select "Dividend" from the selection box.
- Enter Date, Price (dividend amount paid per share), Fees (if any).
- Click "Add Dividend".
- Dividends are added to your Realised P/L and Funds Movement Log.
Tip: Dividends are treated as cash
inflows and affect your funds movement report running balance.
8. Editing a Transaction
To edit:
- Click the small pencil icon next to the trade in the Stock Trade Summary section.
- Update fields and click "Update Transaction".
Note: Changing dates or quantities
may affect calculations. Always review after edits.
9. Deleting a Transaction
To delete:
- Click the Delete next to the trade.
- Confirm deletion.
Warning: Deletions are permanent
and affect portfolio calculations.
10. Updating Market Prices
Prices update automatically overnight. To update manually:
- Click the Mkt. price button in portfolio summary or the small pencil icon next to the Mkt. Price in the stock summary section.
- Enter new price and click "Update Price".
Tip: Market prices are automatically updated with previous
day end of trade figures.
11. Viewing Stock Trade Summary
Click the small arrow next to a stock to expand:
- Shows all transactions in chronological order.
- Includes Buy/Sell/Dividend/Split details.
- Displays running Buy averages and realised profit/loss next to each Sell or Dividend transactions.
Tip: Use this to verify calculations.
11. Understanding the Portfolio Summary main table

stock symbol, with its corresponding market, is automatically added by
the
system based on your market selection when adding a new stock. Stock
symbols and the stock trading market can be edited by clicking the
small pencil icon available on the stock symbol left hand side. |

average cost you paid per unit, recalculated whenever you make a buy

market price (via the stock summary screen). The system will use the
price you originally paid at purchase time as the current
market price until the next price update. |
| INVESTED (column is sortable) |
The total amount you have
invested in that particular company, brokerage and other purchase fees
included. |
| TOTAL
VALUE (column is sortable) |
Total value of the stocks you
hold in a particular company based on current unit market price . |
| PROFIT/LOSS (column is sortable) |
Total unrealised profit or loss,
considering the total invested in that particular company against the
parcel market price |

Function buttons, enable adding
new trades for a particular company, updating its market price or
completely deleting it from your portfolio (note, this will also delete
the stock from all other reports). |

Sold out stocks will go into the
archive section automatically. Click the View Archive button to see them. |
Tip: Click any stock in the Portfolio Summary table to view the stock's trade history.
12. Understanding the Stock Trade History section

calculator will enable you to explore various Sale scenarios based on

and
other fees included. |

The add trade button will enable
you to enter additional trade transactions for that company |
| MKT. PRICE |
Market price based on previous day close, or whenever you update the market price. The system will use the price you originally paid at purchase time as the current market price until the next day price update. |
| HOLDING |
The total number of stocks you hold with that company |
| AT AVG. COST |
The average cost basis you paid per unit, recalculated whenever you make a buy transaction, brokerage and other purchase fees you've paid included. |
| PARCEL VALUE |
The total amount you have invested in that particular company, brokerage and other purchase fees included. |
| REALISED P/L |
Actual profit/loss figure,
updated every time you Sell or receive dividends. Calculations run
since the time of your first stock purchase in that company. |
13. Price History (Chart & Table)
Scroll down to the Stock Trade Summary section and click the small graph icon next to the stock Mkt. Price:
- Your stock price history for the last 90 days will be shown together with a chart.
- The prices shown in the table are sortable.
- Close the price history container by clicking the X button or by
clicking the small graph icon again.
14. Viewing Your Funds Movement Log (Bank Balance)
ShareExpress Plus logs funds movement whenever you trade. This helps keep track of the cash flow in your trading account:
- Click the program menu button to access the Funds Movement screen.
- Transactions can be filtered by date.
- The table shows events, amounts and running balance.
- You can also export transactions to Excel or Print.
15. Charts
ShareExpress Plus offers a number of basic charting features to help you visualise your portfolio position.
Click the Charts link from within the menu button to access.
- Stock holding doughnut or bar chart.
- Portfolio growth chart (Last 5 years of trading).
- Portfolio Stats: Total Invested, Total value (based on Mkt. Prices), and total Gain or Loss.
16. Viewing Reports
ShareExpress Plus offers a number of reports to help you around tax time.
Click Reports from the program main menu to load that page.
- Reports can be filtered by date.
- The system will load all transactions by default
- To see only BUY transactions, click the "Buys" button, the
"Sells" button for sales, the "Dividend" button for dividend
transactions only
- Various reports can be exported to Excel or printed by clicking
the corresponding "Export CSV" and "Print" buttons.
17. Exporting Particular Stock Data to CSV
ShareExpress Plus offers exporting to CSV particular stock trading information or the entire portfolio.
- To access this feature click the menu button from within the main
portfolio screen.
- Select "Entire Portfolio (All Stocks + All Trades)" to download
CSV for all trades.
OR - Select a particular company. The CSV file will only include transactions for that particular company.
18. Managing Currency Settings and Exchange Rates
ShareExpress Plus enables you to hold and track stocks in three different markets, AUS, USA and NZ. The stocks will all be listed on the same portfolio screen, each with its market symbol attached to the stock code for easy reference.
Upon adding the first stock to your portfolio, you will be requested
to select the currency of your home country (Default currency). All
monetary values displayed in the main portfolio screen will be
automatically converted to your home currency.
- To update currency rates click the "Currency Exchange
Rates" option in the menu button available over the
portfolio main screen. The Exchange rates screen will enable you to
update rates manually or automatically. Then click "Save".
- NOTE: Default display currency cannot be changed once you add
stocks to
your portfolio. The option can only be changed once the portfolio is
empty.
19. Backing Up and Restoring Your Data
ShareExpress Plus enables you to create backups of your portfolio
and download for safekeeping. Your portfolio can also be easily
restored to the last known backup date.
- To access the backup/restore feature, click the "Backup & Restore" option in the menu button available over the main portfolio screen.
- The Backup & Restore screen will enable you to manually create backups, download and/or restore your entire database. Downloaded backups are encrypted and cannot be read. They can only be read by the system once you upload them.
- The system will create daily auto-backups.
Warning: Restore overwrites all data!
